Learning to Wait on God

The Bridge - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.

Scripture

“Wait for Jehovah:
Be strong, and let thy heart take courage;
Yea, wait thou for Jehovah.”
Psalm 27:14 (ASV)

Reflection

Waiting can be one of the most challenging parts of faith. We often want movement, answers, or resolution, yet God sometimes invites us to wait instead. Waiting does not mean nothing is happening — it means God is working in ways we may not yet see.

Scripture encourages us to wait with strength and courage. This kind of waiting is not passive or empty. It is active trust — choosing to believe that God’s timing is purposeful and His presence is near, even when progress feels slow.

Learning to wait on God reshapes our hearts. It teaches patience, deepens trust, and reminds us that God’s plans are not rushed or delayed by human timelines. In the waiting, hope is strengthened when we place our confidence in who God is rather than how quickly circumstances change.

Application

This week, reflect on an area of your life where waiting feels difficult.

Instead of resisting the waiting, ask God to help you remain steady and hopeful. Use this time to draw closer to Him, trusting that His timing is intentional and His guidance will come at the right moment.

Prayer

God,
Waiting is not easy, especially when I long for answers or change.
Help me wait with strength and courage.
Teach me to trust Your timing and remain hopeful while I wait.
Remind me that You are present and at work, even now.

In Jesus Name, Amen

Closing

Waiting becomes bearable when hope is anchored in God.
