The Bridge - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.

Scripture

“For God gave us not a spirit of fearfulness; but of power and love and discipline.”
— 2 Timothy 1:7 (ASV)

Reflection

Uncertainty often invites fear. When outcomes feel unknown and circumstances feel unstable, fear can quietly take hold of our thoughts and emotions. It can shape how we respond, how we decide, and how we move forward. Yet Scripture reminds us that fear does not come from God.

God offers something different — power, love, and a sound mind. Choosing trust over fear does not mean fear disappears instantly. It means we recognize fear for what it is and choose not to let it lead. Trust redirects our focus from what might go wrong to who God is and how He cares for us.

Faith grows when we intentionally choose trust, even while fear tries to speak loudly. God’s presence provides strength when fear feels overwhelming, and His love steadies us when uncertainty threatens our peace.

Application

This week, pay attention to moments when fear begins to influence your thoughts or decisions.

When fear rises, pause and remind yourself of what God has given you — strength, love, and clarity of mind. Choosing trust may feel difficult at times, but each step of trust moves you closer to peace rooted in God’s presence rather than fear of the unknown.

Prayer

God,
Fear often tries to take hold when I feel uncertain.
Help me choose trust instead of fear.
Remind me that You have given me strength, love, and clarity.
Guide my thoughts and steps as I place my confidence in You.

In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen

Closing

Trust leads us forward when fear tries to hold us back.
