Hope When the Waiting Feels Long
The Bridge - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.
“And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
— Galatians 6:9 (ASV)
Reflection
Waiting can become especially difficult when it lasts longer than we expected. What once felt manageable can slowly turn into weariness, and hope can feel harder to hold onto as time passes.
Scripture encourages us not to grow weary in doing what is right. This is not a dismissal of how we feel—it is an encouragement to remain steady even when the waiting feels long.
God’s timing is not rushed, and it is not without purpose. Even when progress is not visible, God is still at work. He sees the faithfulness, the effort, and the quiet perseverance that often go unnoticed.
Hope is not sustained by how quickly things change. It is sustained by trusting that God remains faithful, even in extended seasons of waiting.
Application
This week, reflect on where waiting may be causing discouragement.
Instead of giving in to weariness, ask God to help you remain steady and hopeful. Continue doing what is right, trusting that His timing includes purpose and that He is still at work.
Prayer
God,
Waiting has felt long, and at times my heart has grown tired.
Help me not grow weary in doing what is right.
Renew my strength and restore my hope.
Remind me that You are faithful, even when progress feels slow.
In Jesus Name, Amen
Closing
Hope remains steady when it is anchored in God’s faithfulness.
