Taking the Next Right Step

The Bridge’s - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.

Scripture

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not upon thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Proverbs 3:5–6 (ASV)

Reflection

When we think about moving forward in faith, we often feel pressure to know the entire plan. But Scripture reminds us that God does not ask us to see everything — He asks us to trust Him with what we can see right now.

Taking the next right step doesn’t mean having complete clarity or confidence. It means choosing faith over fear in small, honest ways. Sometimes that step is a decision. Sometimes it’s obedience. Sometimes it’s simply continuing to trust God when nothing feels resolved yet.

God promises to direct our paths as we acknowledge Him, not after we figure everything out. As we walk forward one step at a time, we learn that His guidance meets us in motion — not perfection.

Application

This week, consider what one faithful step may be in front of you.

You may not need to make a big decision or a bold move. One small act of trust — a conversation, a prayer, a choice to wait, or a step forward — is enough. Let God lead you as you move, knowing that He honors faith that is willing, not flawless.

Prayer

God,
I want to move forward, but sometimes I feel unsure.
Help me trust You with the steps I can take today.
Guide my heart and my decisions as I acknowledge You.
Thank You for walking with me as I go.
Amen.

Closing

Take this week one step at a time — God is already there.
