Carried by God When the Journey Feels Heavy
The Bridge - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.
Scripture
“The eternal God is thy dwelling place,
And underneath are the everlasting arms...”
— Deuteronomy 33:27 (ASV)
Reflection
There are times when the journey feels heavier than we expected. Strength feels thin, answers feel distant, and the weight of responsibility presses in quietly. In moments like these, it’s easy to believe we are carrying more than we can bear.
But Scripture reminds us of a deeper truth: we are not carrying this journey alone. God Himself is our dwelling place, and His everlasting arms are beneath us — supporting, sustaining, and holding us steady even when we feel weak.
Being carried by God doesn’t mean the path suddenly becomes easy. It means that when our strength falters, His does not. When we reach the end of ourselves, we discover that God has been holding us all along — not urging us to push harder, but inviting us to rest in His care.
Application
This week, consider where you may be trying to carry more than you were meant to.
You may find it helpful to pause and release the weight you’ve been holding onto — not by giving up, but by allowing God to support you. Trust that His presence is steady beneath you, even when the journey feels heavy.
You don’t have to hold everything together. God is already holding you.
Prayer
God,
Some days the journey feels heavier than I expected.
Thank You for reminding me that I am not alone.
Help me rest in Your care when my strength feels low.
Carry me when I cannot carry myself.
In Jesus Name Amen.
Closing
Even when the journey feels heavy, you are held
