Holding Onto Faith in the Unknown

The Bridge - Faith for the Week is a moment to pause, reflect, and receive encouragement grounded in God’s Word for the days ahead.

Scripture (ASV)

“Now faith is assurance of things hoped for, a conviction of things not seen.”
Hebrews 11:1 (ASV)

Reflection

The unknown can feel unsettling. When outcomes are uncertain and answers are incomplete, it can be difficult to remain confident in what we cannot see. Faith is often tested not in moments of clarity, but in moments when the path forward is still unfolding.

Scripture reminds us that faith is rooted in assurance and conviction, even when circumstances are unclear. Faith does not require full understanding; it requires trust. Holding onto faith in the unknown means choosing to believe that God is present and working, even when evidence feels limited.

God is not surprised by uncertainty. He remains steady when life feels unsteady. As we hold onto faith, we are reminded that what is unseen is still under God’s care and direction.

Application

This week, consider where uncertainty may be causing hesitation or fear.

Rather than seeking immediate clarity, choose to place your confidence in God’s faithfulness. Faith does not eliminate the unknown, but it anchors us while we walk through it. Allow God’s presence to steady you as you trust Him beyond what you can see.

Prayer

God,
There are times when I don’t know what lies ahead.
Help me hold onto faith even when the future feels uncertain.
Strengthen my trust in You when answers are not yet clear.
Guide me as I place my confidence in what You have promised.

In Jesus Name, Amen

Closing

Faith remains steady, even when the future is unseen.
